Back to Zion

Took a little hike up Angel's Landing in Zion NP last weekend w/ pappa Jay. Actually, we only made it to the saddle, as our running shoes weren't quite sufficient to finish the last couple hundred vertical feet of ice (though the trip down would have been exciting). It was a beautiful day to be in one of the most beautiful spots on earth.

Detail of a north-facing (no sun) cliff face.

Dad on Walter's Wiggles - the final switchbacks up to the saddle. On the right side of the picture you can see several of the many waterfalls that began to form as the afternoon sun melted the snow.

Zion NP is good for the soul. If only it could be a bit closer to DC.
