Our imperial superhero takes a break from ruling our lives to have a sip.
Curly a bit?
Don't be fooled: he looks cute, but he's a hurricane.
Warming by the fire while the ice falls from the sky outside.
In other news, Tennyson climbed out of his crib for the first time last week. He swings the leg over the bar, pulls himself over the edge, then drops and lands on his feet. Every time we put him in his crib. We weren't quite ready for that development. We haven't slept (much) since. If we ever regain our senses, we plan to think about how to deal with our new situation. Until then, anyone have any advice (besides sleeping pills crushed up in his bottle)?

McCall was a crib climber-outer starting at about 18 months. I put her in a big girl bed and told her that if she wanted to sleep in that instead of a crib, then she had to stay in it once we put her there. It actually worked pretty good, but that's no guarantee it would for Tennyson. Kids are so different!! Good luck.
cool - you guys are using that fireplace.
Kiara loves her big girl bed. We made it a production and bought cute sheets. She has done well. But, the secret my friend is those door knob covers! They can't get out. Awesome.
i second the door knob covers! between that or mind-numbingly painful persistence (continually moving him back to his crib/bed every time he gets out) he should get the message.
if you're (or he's) truly not ready for the big boy bed, they do make these things called crib tents that fasten over the crib and prevent houdini escapes:

Funny, I have the exact same outfit featured in the first photo. However, I don't look as cute wearing it.
My sister got a domed net that covered her sons crib. I don't know the name of it, but it is specifically made for cribs. I called it a cage :). She got it more as protection for him from his older brothers wanting to throw things in his crib though, but then worked wonders for keeping him in when he could have climbed out. It attaches to the top of the crib and has a dome that has a zipper opening, kind of like a tent. I think that our little Evi will be following suit soon in learning to climb out--she's now figured that out in the pack and play, so I'm thinking it's only a matter of time on the crib! If you want me to check with her on the name, let me know!
Good Luck!
Oh, and I forgot to say, I hope you've enjoyed some of the nice weather days we've been having! After church today I just let Evi run around the yard before going in for lunch and nap, because it was just too good to pass up! I'm with you, I can't wait until it's nice on a regular basis, but I'll take what I can get :).
