Three Sentence Book Review: Deliver Us From Evil, David Baldacci

I wanted to try a popular modern novel, so I looked to this local (D.C.) author to see how the new stuff stacks up against all the so-called classics I've been reading.  This is definitely not a classic and never will be.  In fact, it's a bad rip-off of a truly classic short story by Richard Connell, The Most Dangerous Game, though it's about 10 times longer to accommodate all the sensationalism.

(Any suggestions for new literature - say the last 10 years - that is super good?  I'm going to continue on my quest to read the classics, but I'm open to more contemporary works that have literary merit.  Suzy is pushing me to read the "Shopaholic" series, but I'm not sure it's my cup of tea.)

I think it's about 10 years old, so perhaps not exactly "new," but I love Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. Both the language and the story are just amazing.

WELLLLL
Jer these are three books I've enjoyed recently:
The Help
Glass Castle
The Wonder of Boys (not fiction but very interesting to me a female. I really have a hard time understanding the male gender and this is helping me with my 41 yr old man and three yr old boy and even 4 mo old baby) But you ARE a male so maybe you could find a book called "The wonder of Girls"
I also have been wanting to read
The Book Thief
My mom has all these books and can send them to you.

You should totally read the Twilight Series!

Oh man. I can't even type it with a straight face.

Don't read them. Ever.

Being serious, though...I have read Peace Like A River, The Help, and The Book Thief and found them all worth reading.

And I find your three sentence book reviews to be great! If I have read the book, I almost always find myself nodding as I read your synopsis.

And for Suzy...Kate is taking dance through Southwest Contemporary Dance. She is LOVING it.
